R-Type Bulbs (R20, R25, R30, R40)
These bulbs are a direct replacement for incandescent R-Type and BR-Type bulbs.  R-Type bulbs have a frosted face that evenly diffuses light and eliminates glare. For this reason, they are ideal for recessed can fixtures.

PAR Bulbs (PAR20, PAR30, PAR38)
These bulbs are intended to replace incandescent and halogen PAR bulbs. PAR bulbs feature an aluminized reflector with a special pattern of impressions that amplifies and concentrates light in a single area; this effect is further defined by a textured, flat glass face that controls the actual beam spread. These bulbs are ideal for track light fixtures, including most gimbal rings.

P-Type Bulbs (P30, P38)
Also known as BPAR or “Blown PAR” bulbs, these specialty bulbs most closely replicate the look and performance of an incandescent PAR bulb. Unlike ordinary PAR bulbs, the glass face of a P-Type bulb is not simply attached to the aluminized reflector; instead, it is a contiguous part of the bulb envelope. Because this design makes them more resilient in damp locations, these bulbs are typically used in outdoor fixtures.
