Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 3 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Very nice bulb This bulb puts off quite a bit of light. Works well for indoor herb/vegetable gardens. When I first plugged mine in, some of the tubes didn't light. After leaving it plugged in for a little while it lit completely and has stayed that way. The "seal" or whatever it is where the tubes go into the body of the light was kind of messy on some of the tubes. These are also the tubes that didn't light immediately, so I'm guessing that could have had something to do with it. It gets somewhat hot but proper airflow should make that a non-issue. I would be more satisfied with this bulb if the "seal" on some of the tubes wasn't as messy and they all lit at the same time, but it's been working so far. April 10, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by This bulb has the lowest cost per Watt of any CFL I've found. The price is unbeatable. The standard base fits normal home light sockets. The bent tube rather than the spiral style CFL keeps it much cooler than an equivalent spiral CFL, however it does put off some heat. The heat is noticeable within 2 inches of the bulb but not hot enough to burn your hand. As for performance, the bulb does what it's supposed to do. The low K temperature puts out a yellowish light. I would call it soft white rather than warm white although the terms are interchangeable. If you want bright white light look for the 5500K bulbs or daylight bulbs. Don't buy spiral CFL's. Save yourself the time and money and get this bent tube style. October 5, 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Product Does What It Says I purchased this bulb to grow vegetables indoors and it works great. It's been on an outlet timer with an eighteen on six off cycle for about two months and it's still going strong. The bulb gets hot to the touch but not hot enough to burn the plants at five inches away. The plants are flourishing and the bulb is obviously a key factor. June 8, 2011
