The only way to brighten my kitchen
I bought a house and kept the existing lights for the kitchen. There were ten R30 incandescents and I replaced the seven most used. It made a dim kitchen bearable and more usable. After about 18 months, one bulb failed. I purchased replacements after the initial stock and the new bulb is pinker when warming up. My only complaint is they do take ~3 minutes to reach full brightness. I can live with that as they are much brighter than the 65W equivalent CFL and the incandescents. It is nice to have the three incandescents on a separate switch when I need immediate light. I wish these came in dimmable versions to brighten my living room.

Highest Wattage R30 CFL Available
I have installed over a dozen of these bulbs in the last three years. Two have failed so far. They are the highest wattage R30 CFL floodlights I can find. They have a very wide, even light dispersal, wider than halogen and incandescent floods. To my eyes, the quality of light (CRI) from these bulbs (2700K) is not as good as other CFL floodlights I have used. However, I would still recommend them if you are looking for a warm white, wide flood CFL. These bulbs do require 3-5 minutes to reach full brightness.

A little slow to start up, but wonderful light for a great price. Will definitely buy again.

Energy Miser FE-RSF-20W-27K
These bulbs are used for external landscape lighting. They are bright and energy efficient. Since they are warm white, they do not have the fluorescent-like appearance.

Average quality light, 30 watt Halogen PAR equivalent
This R30 bulb is equivalent to a 30 watt PAR halogen flood. Light quality is not up to current CFL standards. Long warm up time.
