This rope light in-line splice connector is used when visible and invisible areas of rope light need splice repair or when a change to an alternate color is desired. This splice connector is for use with 1/2-inch, 2-wire rope lights and gives you the ability to connect two strands of rope light, allowing you to customize a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, or game room. It can be used with 12, 24, or 120 volt rope lights and is perfect for lining walls and accenting corners to create unique lighting and wall designs. Use clear shrink wrap tubing around the splice to seal the connection.

The plastic fins tend to break if bent too far, which you have to bend somewhat to get to fit into the rope light. I had a couple of the metal pins that bent or broke during installation as well.
However, sometimes you need a splice connector and this is the one that fits with the rope light I purchased from 1000bulbs.
