I bought a bunch of these for my basement shop. I tend to accidentally hit the bulbs when I am working on occasion. I ordered these and protect the bulbs from damage. I first ordered the incorrect size, but with the help of customer service, I corrected the order and had the replacements in no time. This product usually sells at Hope Depot for like $7 a piece. They are much cheaper here.

We actually bought these to use in a firearms training range that uses Simunition (non-lethal training ammunition), because our testing revealed the tubes were tough enough to withstand the projectile hits of our plastic bullets, which travel at about 450fps. These tubes flex under that impact, but not enough to allow damage or breakage to the florescent tube inside. Good stuff!

These tube guards make a pleasant, round tone when hit or used to hit other objects. By cutting them to different lengths and damping overtones with tape I was able to make a musical instrument with which my 3-year-old and his friends love to play. An surprising bonus was that the tube caps lowered each tube by a semi-tone.

We have a lot of fluorescent lights in the kitchen of a buffet restaurant. We needed something to protect the bulbs and found these on Internet. Good price and worked perfect.

We use these for party centerpieces. They make great poles inserted into styrofoam bases. They are rigid enough. We cut them in half because 24" is the size we need. They cut easily with a utility knife. We fill them with shredded metallic mylar to change the colors inside.
We'll definitely order more in the future. We love them.
