Since switching to this lamp from primarily using the Ushios, I have noticed a difference in lamp life. I use them in landscape lighting, and the reflector holds up much better, and the filament burns longer. I've installed over 200 in the past 2 years, and can only recall replacing 5-6 of them in that period. Many of those fixtures run dusk-to-dawn. The one I tested in my own yard lasted over 6000 hours at 12.7v cycling several times per day (burning 22hrs per day).

The GE bulb really is very different from most other MR16s. It may cost a little more, but the color is much better. Other makers have bulbs that tend towards greenish or other tints, but the GE bulbs do not have that problem.
