I got 6 of these bulbs to replace the clear ones that came with my track fixtures. These bulbs diffuse the light nicely. They also seem to bleed a little light from the back (through the reflector) which in my case is perfect as it makes the frosted white lamp shade glow and provides a tiny bit of diffused light at the ceiling. Someone looking for a true spot or dark ceiling might not find this to be a good thing if their shades are not opaque, but in my case this is a bonus since it allows my spots to contribute some pleasing area light as well.
Price was fine and shipping was fast. I can't comment on longevity because I've only had them for a month or so, but they're much better than the one bulb provided with the fixtures that died the first time I turned it on!
