This time switch provides automatic control for electric water heaters. It also provides to-the-minute accuracy in programming and time keeping. The time switches can be programmed for repeat daily scheduling, 5-day working week scheduling, weekend scheduling or any individual day scheduling. Timers can be scheduled for operation during the lowest time-of-day rates or to switch off the electric heater during period of utilities peak power usage. The time switch can be set to operate for up to 6 ON/OFF operations daily for a maximum of 42 on/off operations weekly. The Intermatic EH40 provides a convenient external override switch and LED load indicator for ease in scheduling hot water as required for extra hot water demands. The timers include a 'AA' alkaline battery carryover which protects both time keeping and program information for a minimum of 3 years.

Excellent Pool Timer
The external pushbutton and clear window make this an excellent timer for controlling a swimming pool pump when mounted under the roof overhang, keeping it out of the rain. Homeowners no longer need to open the timer, often with wet hands, for manual switching. My older customers really appreciate it.

Easy to wire up, good instructions
Easy to set time intervals. Saves money when you turn off the water heater 12 hours per day.

Great timer to reduce water heater electric usage.
Unit was easy to install and easy to program. One button to push if you need to temporarily override the timer. Battery backup in case of power outage is nice feature.

A dependable and affordable timer option
I needed a 240-volt timer, where the installation did not have an available Neutral conductor. This timer fit my needs perfectly. It has a lot of programing flexibility, and the battery backup means no need to re-program if the power goes out for a while. Installation was easy, and thus far it has proven quite dependable.
