A worthwhile investment I bought 12 of these CFL flood lights 7 months ago to replace the exterior 75 watt Halogen flood lights. While these cost more upfront, they definitely will save you money in time. They don't run hot like halogens, which is good if they're located close to something or are not in a protective covering. A couple of things to note though: they take a few minutes to warm up and reach full brightness. Also, they are not as bright as halogens. They do cover the same area, but just a little dimmer. While concerned about this, I found I could still see around my home perimeter to a good distance. If you've never tried exterior CFL lights, I'd buy just a few initially to see what you think before buying a lot of them. Overall these are very good and worth buying. Lastly, if they seem a little dim, try a higher wattage bulb...it may work well while still saving you money. October 5, 2011
Not an Instant On Bulb This bulb comes on slow and dim. October 5, 2011
Excellent replacement for conventional floods I replaced the conventional floods on a tower with these CFL floods and that was at least a year ago... When you have to climb a 60' tower to change lights when they go out, it sure is nice to have a quality, long-lasting light with good illumination. I highly recommend these. June 14, 2011
Light without heat I work in a custom framing store that doubles as a fine art gallery. We have many flood lights on tracks in the ceiling, which used to be all traditional bulbs. These draw less power, produce a whiter light and give off almost no heat making the gallery a much more comfortable place. They do take a bit to warm up to full light output, about 10 mins. Good flood light I have these lights on 24/7 and they last over 2 years typically. I think that's pretty good considering they're outside. The light color is just like an incandescent bulb, it's not too blue. June 10, 2011
Poor light output This lamp performs poorly in regard to light output. June 10, 2011
Bright! Great price, delivered quickly and well packaged. The only problem I have with this bulb is that they are a little too bright for the room where they replaced 50W halogens. Recessing them a little more resolved that issue...... June 7, 2011
Good, cost effective CFL floodlight Being used outside to light a porch. Lamp is protected from rain etc. Slow start when cold but warms up to a good warm light. I choose this lamp for its low cost and warm (2700K) color. Very pleased. Fitted 7 lamps all at the same time to get consistent color. Arrived quickly and as ordered. June 7, 2011
