Rated 5 out of 5 Highest Wattage CFL Floodlight Available
I have installed over 40 of these bulbs (and the 5000K Full Spectrum Version) in both base down and base up applications in the last three years. Four have failed so far. They are the highest wattage CFL floodlights I can find. They have a very wide, even light dispersal, wider than halogen and incandescent floods. To my eyes, the quality of light (CRI) from these bulbs (2700K) is not as good as other CFL floodlights I have used. However, I would still recommend them if you are looking for a warm white, wide flood CFL.

It's well known that if you multiply the wattage a CFL consumes by 4, you get the incandescent equivalent. The specifications for this bulb even claim that it uses 30 watts and is equivalent in light output to a 120 watt incandescent R40 bulb. NOT EVEN CLOSE! Very poor light output.

Rated 5 out of 5 by AMB1 Great product
This is the first CFL that is truly equivalent to a 120 R40 in brightness. The color is nice and warm. The only downside is that it takes 10-15 minutes to reach full brightness.

This bulb gives off many more lumens than the type you can buy in the local big box home improvement center. Over the years, I have experienced a few premature failures, so claimed long life is not as long as expected.
