Rated 4 out of 5 by Works for me. Needed to install a brighter bulb than was available in candelabra base models. Standard base bulb fits and works as expected. September 15, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by With the adapter to handle medium base, one can now use the new efficient LED bulbs rather than being stuck with CFL's, or worse, regular bulbs. New light fixtures have "candelabra" sockets rather than the normal base of regular light bulbs. While one can purchase compact fluorescent (CFL) bulbs in the candelabra base, the newer LED lights come with the standard base. Thus, one is prevented from using the higher efficiency LED (lower wattage equals lower cost). To the rescue is the "Candelabra to Medium Socket Enlarger - PLT S51". The newer LED bulbs have come a long way and are very bright - in fact, cannot tell from regular or CFL once it is turned on. And LED bulbs are instant on at full brightness unlike CFL bulbs. The base enlarger is perfect to use the LED bulbs in new light fixtures. June 7, 2011
