HighMax lamps are designed to manage heat so that lumen maintenance is maximized. Critical components (susceptible to heat failure) are chosen for their high heat tolerance. The body of the lamp is vented with patented air gaps to increase cooling air flow. HighMax lamps also include a thick aluminum heat sink between heat producing components to remove even more heat from the lamp. Ideal uses include high and low bays, gymnasiums, warehouses, churches, wall packs, shop floors, and parking garages.

Works like a charm.
I purchased this to replace a 500W incandescent bulb. I have two fixtures and have replaced one. As they are side by side over a stage, it is easy to compare the output. The Maxlite CFL produces a whiter light and seems just as bright as the incandescent.
