Rated 5 out of 5 by Wonderful! These bulbs are absolutely wonderful. They were purchased for a 3 year old that has been scared of the dark regardless of having night lights on his wall. The night light portion of this CFL gives a nice dim light throughout his entire room. Not kidding, the first night we installed these he fell asleep in 2 minutes. The same thing has happened for the next few nights. This is after a couple months of him not going to bed for anywhere from 15 minutes to 45 minutes saying "i'm scared". He was especially scared of his closet which is now also fully lit up. What cons do I see in this product? To be honest I see two cons, but both of them do not amount to enough to subtract a star. First, the LEDs are at the top and only shine straight, it would be nice if they had some LEDs shining out on the sides. The only case where I could see this being bad is if you were putting it in a vertical lamp that sits on the floor where the LEDs are pointing towards the ceiling. As a result this would cast a shadow and may scare a child. Second, I have noticed that the fluorescent bulb takes a little longer than normal CFLs on the market to get to its full brightness. However, I would say these bulbs are brighter than normal CFLs once they warm up. End result is I would definitely try this bulb and think it is worth the money. January 14, 2013
