Rated 5 out of 5 by 1 reviewer.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Long Live Mercury Vapor! I purchased this lamp to use in a Metal Halide 50 watt light fixture. This lamp is designed to work with metal halide ballast's that match the ANSI number. If you are looking for that classic mercury vapor blue/green/white light hue then here is the choice. New Mercury vapor light fixture's are no longer available in california, High pressure sodium, metal halide and CFL are the only option's, however since eye makes mercury vapor bulbs that work in metal halide fixture's I think mercury vapor can exist for just a little while longer. The noticable major difference that I could see between a mercury vapor bulb and this special EYE brand lamp is that the EYE lamp has no starting electrode, only the electrode's on each end. So this lamp definitley needs a pulse start type fixture to operate...LONG LIVE MERCURY VAPOR LIGHT! March 22, 2012
