The Sola ERSF-134-TP magnetic fluorescent ballast operates (1) F40T12 or F34T12 or F30T12 lamp at 120 input volts. Ideal for use in low light areas, this rapid start ballast is typically used in hallways, stairwells, and lobbies. Also operates F30T12, FC16T9, and FC12T9 fluorescent lamps.

My mother's condo has seven flourscent fixtures in the kitchen, above and below the cabinets. After 40 years all of the ballasts are finally going bad. I was torn between replacing the ballasts or the entire fixtures.
The local home improvement stores didn't have much in the way of single bulb T12 fixtures and only had GE "universal" ballasts. I found these to universally not work in my application!
The Sola units are an exact replacement for the original balasts. They are the same dimensions and even bolted in place perfectly in the old fixtures. It's a five wire application (black; white; 1x blue; 2x red) and with five wire nuts and five minutes, the fixtures work like new!
