I bought a half dozen of these for recessed lighting in our living room. All of them worked. They take a moment to come on, then a minute to fully warm up. Once warm, they dim very well - better than I expected. The color of the light is slightly cooler than the incandescents in the next room, but it isn't too bad, especially if you dim them just a little. They are much longer than the previous bulbs, however, and stick out of the bottom of our recessed lighting. Our fixtures have covers on the end which I was taking off anyway, but if I didn't want to take them off, the bulbs would not have fit.
I'll see how long they last before I give a final verdict on value.

bought 10 bulbs--within 1 week of use, 2 died--flicker erratically when dimmed--lumen level varies significantly--all this even tho' we 'cured' the bulbs as recommended and we use the appropriate dimmers. Unfortunately, too late to return due to construction delays.
