The lighting situation I had was in a library at a church. I replaced 3 old fluorescent units that were extremely dim. The room is also used for many meetings and I havn't stop hearing how much the people using that appreciate the difference in light. The fact that they are truly dimmable plays a huge factor in their application as well.

I have been looking for these bulbs for literally years. Too Bright, TooDim,Won't Dim with Dimmer on and on...and then I tried 1000 BULBS! These Bulbs light my kitchen Beautifully with warm but more sufficient light that anyone could ask for.
I couldn't say enought about the bulbs and the service.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Rich68 The TCP lamp is the best CFL dimmable lamp I have found.
On my work bench it was found that the lamp dimmed from 100% down to 2 or 3% as promised by the manufacturer. I found no other CFL that can do this. A total of 168 TCP lamps were installed in the sanctuary of a local church. The light level on the floor was more than doubled with 25% less power than was used with the existing incandesant lamps. After three weeks of operation, one lamp failure has occured and a second lamp will not dim without flashing. The lamps are powered from a ETC multi-channel dimmer (20 amp rated channels). Dimmer output module failures were experienced when circuits were loaded to 16 amps at full brightness. Suggest keeping dimmer loading to 50% of amp rating at full brightness. The dimmer output module failures appeared to be related to surge currents when lamps are switched on at full brightness.

Performance:
This bulb had more dimming range than other dimmable CFLs, but had much less dimming range than incandescent bulbs.
Bulb life:
Two out of three bulbs failed within six months. 1000bulbs.com quickly refunded my money.
TCP normally has great products, apparently this bulb is an exception.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Eric7 Dimming claims are unfounded
This product claims flicker-free dimming from 100% to 2%. On my Insteon dimmers I can turn them from full bright down to 30% cleanly. At 25% they flicker, and at 20% they go out entirely. As I turn them back up, they don't turn on at all until I get to slightly over 50%. On the plus side, they are nice and bright at 100% and have a pleasant light quality. But having to turn them to 100% and then turn them back to 50% to get half brightness leaves me not recommending this product.
