This is a complete light fixture. It should be used in place of a can light, ending wounds to our homes in all those ugly and leaky ceiling cuts. Install directly in a 4" junction box. I know this light as an installing contractor, in 3000K temperature, as Home Depot/ Commercial Electric product T91, selling today at $37.97. The higher the color temperature, the colder the light, and some will say the warmer, more yellow color of a 2700K device is more "natural." If so, a slight premium on the Home Depot price is afforded.
Lighting Science Group Corp., LSGC, has been quietly improving these lights for a couple of years, and you will find no cause to regret a purchase. They are nicely compatible with dimmers, as reported by LSGC, and by my own observation. I recently installed six, operated by one dimmer switch, Cooper Wiring Devices D106P, a really nice device sold at Lowe's for under $20. This simple dimmer achieved about 20% full at slider minimum, which I think is just right for mood lighting or a night light.
I find the 3000K 6" Glimpse light, at 14.5 watts, reported 750 lumens, is brighter than a 23 watt CFL claimed equal to 100 watt incandescent. By power ratio, 9.5 watts divided by 14.5 watts, I think the 4” Glimpse must be equal to a 65 watt incandescent bulb. These equivalence numbers are upside down on the 1000Bulbs site right now, and I have asked LSGC for clarification. I am particularly concerned that 6” Glimpse brightness is underrated, as Glimpse LED then wins out, now and forever, over CFL on operating cost for needed light. Let a demise of CFL happen right now, among energy-efficiency advocates.
I will post variants of this review, for 3000K 6" Glimpse, and for 4" Glimpse at either 2700K or 3000K, where I really know things first-hand only for the Home Depot T91 package.
Let's get our heads together, and guide selection from all the Glimpse options. I think 4" lights will replace area spots where they might be used without thought of dimming. If you want an area really well lit, or maybe on always with dim option, as in a hallway, choose the 6". Which temperature will we choose? We do get to choose. Home Depot, never offering the more-important 4" Glimpse after its early-2012 introduction, chose for us, at 3000K.
I am now ordering 4” Glimpse, two each in 2700K and 3000K, and will report my preference. I have heard preference of 2700K light over 3000K light, and don’t care to try 4000K light.

These led fixtures look great in our new kitchen. They only
use 15 watts of power and put out the same light as a 60w
lamp.I was so impressed that I order more fixtures for all the bed rooms and the living room!
