Rated 5 out of 5 by Instant-on, beautiful white light We're using this for a dual-arm adjustable task light over one of our two home office workstations. The color temperature and light output are about perfect for this use case, as the bulb provides a focused, clean white source of overhead lighting, The level of illumination from ~2.5 feet overhead is ideal for us, as anything brighter might actually make reading difficult (white paper + too much white light = serious glare) and/or wash out the monitors. A cluster of these could work quite well for recessed lighting, but they seem best for overhead task/spot lighting. We haven't tested with a dimmer, but with a standard lamp, the bulb is definitely instant-on. May 10, 2013
