8 Watt - Dimmable - LED Light Bulb

Omni-Directional A19 - 3000K Warm White - 425 Lumens - 40 Watt Equal - 120 Volt - Lighting Science DFN19WWV1120

The Lighting Science Definity DFN19WWV1120 LED light bulb casts light from all angles, making it omnidirectional. This unique attribute makes the Definity LED bulb indistinguishable from 40 watt incandescent bulbs, even in table lamps. That the warm white LED uses a mere 8 watts to produce 425 lumens and lasts 50,000 hours only adds to the value of this groundbreaking product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Looks Great in My Lamps Wow! What a great looking bulb. I replaced my ugly CFLs in all my table lamps with these. The color looks great, and though they don't cast as much light downward as I like, they're as close to omnidirectional as I've been able to find. I think I'll be buying these for my floor lamps next. December 12, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Omnidirectional Only Above Top, CRI Misstated I bought a set of these bulbs to use in a chandelier with frosted globes covering the bulbs and with open tops about even with the top of the bulb. I liked the omnidirectional description because that fixture wants light the whole height of a bulb to illuminate the globes evenly. Unfortunately, these bulbs failed to do that. While the light coming out of the small top portion of the bulb may go somewhat downward, and moreso than the last generation of LED bulbs, it's not enough to properly illuminate the bottom of the globes and spread the light in the room evenly. The color's also a little cooler than the 40W incandescent soft whites they replaced, and I think a little dimmer. Also, the ad copy on these says that the CRI is 85, but the markings on the packaging say that it's only 80. I think they're going back and I might try something else. For that price (with shipping) to fit a single fixture, I want to be happier with the light, especially if it's supposed to last a long long time. December 7, 2012
