Rated 5 out of 5 by Canton Very bright, nice quality light, just a little cool.
We replaced a number of incandescent 60W lights in our ceiling "cans" with these LED lights. Angle/flooding was *excellent*, no difference at all with our incandescents. Also total light output exceeded what we were used to. However even at 2700K this light was a fair bit cooler than what we were used to. Since our walls are a warmish color, these still work fine, but if you've got bright white walls these might not be right for you.
Great build quality, nice and heavy, they feel like they can dissipate a lot of heat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LED4me Excellent replacement for R30 incandescents or CFLs
Plenty of dimmable soft white light. Replaced three 75 watt incandescents (225 watts total) with three of these 12 watt Kobis (36 watts total). Any temperature greater than 2700K would be to cool! Great energy saving product!

Rated 4 out of 5 by mitch5 5" can light energy saver replacement bulb, dimmable
I have replaced 18 of my 5" can regular bulbs with these R30 LED bulbs. Energy consumption is gone, color is great warm white and not blueish white, and dimming is flutter free with the proper CFL/LED dimmer switch.

I ordered this as a replacement for a pot light spot light in my kitchen ceiling. I eventually want to replace all of them with the LED lights, but I was unsure if this would fit, and how it would look, so I ordered just one. When it is off, as well as when it is on, you cannot really tell which light is the LED light. Maybe the LED light is a hair brighter...
There is about a 1 or 2 second delay when I flip the on/off switch for this particular bulb to go on, but that isn't a problem for me. And when I get them all replaced, they will all turn on at the same time, so the delay will be unnoticiable.
The price was great, and the shipping was fast. I will be ordering more of these (6 for my kitchen, then we'll start on the basement), very soon.

Rated 4 out of 5 by illuminatedDoug Good bulb, a bit white, delay to illuminate from power-on
The bulb is very nice, plenty bright. It appears to be a bit whiter than a compact fluorescence that I have of the same color temperature, but not so much to be noticable to most people.
Additionall, after flipping the switch, it does take 0.5 seconds to begin to emit light. This is something you can get used to.
Application was a cathedral ceiling so I don't have to climb a ladder for another 20 years, hopefully.

The color rendition from this bulb is not too bad compared to some other more expensive bulbs that I have tried. The biggest problem I see is the poor two piece design of the bulb that allows it to come apart iin the middle when it is unscrewed from the socket therefore ruining the bulb. Also, these can not be used outdoors because they will fill up with bugs. Eventhough they are rated for damp locations they will have to be in a sealed fixture or you will be dumping dead bugs out every week. If you use them indoors and put them in and never plan to take them out again then these are not to bad of a deal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by PaulK Excellent angle of light
Every LED R30 flood I have bought before has been a disaster. They all have too narrow a beam width and so they leave dark spots between the cans. This one has wide spread of beam so that it matches the CFL and incandescent R30s it replaces. They come on reasonably fast although if you have dimmer without an on/off switch, they flicker when coming on. They do not dim all that well, but no worse than CFLs. Nothing even close to an incandescent, which dims down to nightlight brightness. I do not know if there is a different dimmer switch which does better but I have modern ones.
I highly recommend these if you need a real floodlight with very good brightness. These are whiter than the color temp suggests, at least compared to CFLs with the same temp. They also hurt your eyes to look right at for some reason, but the light cast is very nice and very well distributed.
I will put these into our store once the price comes down some more as I think they do a great job on fabric too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Dave28806 Better than CFLs
We got these to replace CFLs in the kitchen, which were annoyingly slow in coming on. That problem is now solved and the light is much better. Only complaint (minor) is that these 2700k bulbs seem to have a pinkish hue that is not as natural as the CFLs. However for LED lighting, the value of this product outweighs that issue.
