Rated 5 out of 5 by LEDDog Best A19 LED available on the market for lights where the buib is visible
I've tested numerous LED lamps, and this is a winner. The lighting quality cast from this light is indistinguishable from an incandescent. Yes, people have mentioned this before about other LED or CFL products, but nothing compares to this one.
It dims very well on the Lutron LED/CFL dimmers, with no color shift. It turns on almost immediately, with a very slight delay (around 1/4 to a 1/2 a second). Mine does give off a slight hum when turned on, but it's not very noticeable unless your ears are within a few inches of the bulb. The bulb's heat sink does get pretty warm once it's on for an hour or so. Hopefully this simply means the heat sink is working, and it doesn't indicate that there isn't enough heat dissipation.
The Philips L-Prize bulb does put out more light (940 lumens vs 810 lumens with this bulb), but it's not usable in fixtures where the bulb is visible in my opinion. It's also not usable when the fixture doesn't provide enough room for the lighting to disperse, where you can see the individual cells of the bulb. This bulb provides even better lighting quality than the L-Prize bulb (CRI wise), better aesthetics, but a slight trade off in efficacy (86 L/W vs. 97L/W). It still has a much higher efficacy than any other A19 out there besides the L-Prize.
