I purchased these lights to replace standard 50W MR16 lights for a cable track light in our kitchen. I wanted something with more light output, same energy consumption, longer life and a cleaner look. The previous bulbs we had (also Sylvania) cast a noticeable pink color behind the bulb. These bulbs, while not cheap, has definitely delivered! They are a LOT brighter than the standard 50W ones. The IR technology works and is for real. I can't comment on the lifetime yet but the color from it is very white, gives accurate color rendition and the bulbs don't seem any hotter than your standard ones. Highly recommended if your goal is to have brighter lights without increasing wattage.
