Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 6 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Nice alternative to 20W halogens. Above our dining room table we have a light fixture that has 9 small frosted glass cylinders enclosing 20W - 12V halogen bulbs suspended from a decorative 12V transformer. The switch for this fixture is an Insteon V2 dimmer. The 9 lamps are arranged in one group of three and one group of six. I have been waiting for a suitable dimmable LED bulb for this application. I bought 3 of these bulbs to see if I Liked them enough to spring for an additional 6 to complete the transition to LEDS. The answer is yes! We really like the whiter light of the LED bulbs. They maintain that color when dimmed, in contrast to the halogens that start to look yellow/orange and dingy in comparison. The LEDs dim nicely, but not the full range dimming that incandescent lamps do so well. I also notice no flicker when dimmed or at full brightness. Going from a total rating of 180 Watts with the halogens to 18 Watts with the LEDs will mean that we can use this light fixture more without feeling guilty. February 9, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent LED option I am a Landscape Lighting Company owner and I have upgraded many of my customers with these LED bulbs. They burn only 2 watts, replacing a 10 watt halogen. They produce very low heat and I have yet to have to replace one of them. Initial cost of the bulb is more expensive than a halogen, but it last much longer and uses much less energy. I use them in my own yard. December 29, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great energy savings replacement I bought these to replace some 20W Halogen up lights in my yard. Been installed for about a month and they work great so far. A little "whiter" then the old halogens considering they are rated 3000K, but plenty bright for how much wattage they save compared to the halogens. One was DOA, but 1000Bulbs Customer Service worked with me to quickly replace it. June 27, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by I have differing thoughts on this item I had too many failures right out of the box. Also a mix of colors that didn't work. The brightness was not as good as I had hoped and they are way too fragile for most applications. March 4, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Replacement for halogen T3 Actually, it was a 20 watt that I bought, not 2 watt. Tired of halogen T3s burning out so quickly, thought I'd give this a try. A bit more bulky than the halogen, but it did fit. Light is a bit cooler than the halogen. Decided not to reinstall the clear glass that protects against shattered halogen lamps, as I didn't want to pose a heat problem for the LED, since they're sensitive to heat. So far so good..... Rated 5 out of 5 by great replacement Bought one of these to replace the halogen bulb in a step light. Color is very good, close to the halogen in warmth. Housing remains cool to the touch after being on for hours, unlike the halogen was was hot. November 24, 2012
