gordiepalmdesert Grea bulb for over the dinning table.
We just remodeled or dinning room which included a new table and 5 bulb chandler. We wanted to have enough light for serving dinner, and be able to dim the lights to set the correct mood in the room. We normally leave these lights on in the evening. These bulbs fit the bill perfectly. Dimmable, low operating cost, low heat and long life. The ice cream cone design was completely hidden in our chandler.

Rated 5 out of 5 by alanterra I like it, warm, dims to low level
I have only tested this bulb for about 5 minutes. I compared 3 bulbs to replace incandescent bulbs in sconces in my house. Of the 3 bulbs, this is the warmest color, and the others, even though they were supposed to be replacing 100 watt bulbs, seemed too bright. This gives us light that is pleasant and gives the room a warm feeling. If I needed to read by it, I would choose something brighter and perhaps whiter (bluer), but for ambient light, this one is just right. We will be replacing all the sconces in our house with this bulb. My wife still says that the light is too blue, but it is the warmest of the ones we tested.

Rated 4 out of 5 by august good dimmer replacement
Bought this to replace incandesents in my kitchen can downlights. Not quite as warm color as the incandesents but much warmer than your typical led. I bought 1 as a trial and liked it so i just bought 7 more to replace in the dimmer can lights we use the most. I also tried these in other lights andthe light definitely goes .down. so these wiill be in the ceiling cansbutnot other fixtures. They also are brighter than the 40 watt incandesents and do not dim as much. Not an issue for me just fyi.

Rated 4 out of 5 by jimmyc Great high efficient replacement lamps
I installed these 8 watt LED lamps in recessed ceiling fixtures in my home theater. They are dimmable but with a couple of problems - limited dimming range and will not switch back on unless the dimmer is set at about 50% full illumination. Once switched back on the dimmer can be reduced down to the low setting - must be a unique problem with LED's. Overall, I am happy with these lamps.
