We have a business that needs safety/protection lighting on motion detecting fixtures and 24/7 lighting in a wet location. Before using these, we calculated electricity costs at $1940 per year. After using these, we calculated costs at $380 per year. Of the 8 bulbs put in service in Jan. 2011, only 2 failed with round the clock wet location usage which was much more cost effective than incandescent bulbs. Intermittent use bulbs have not failed. Outstanding Return on investment!!

What was the most surprising about this bulb is that it comes on much brighter than most "enclosed" bulbs. Most flood light type bulbs or A type bulbs have a long warmup time. While this bulb does not come on at it's full brightness, it comes on at what seems like about 85-90%.
