There is no ring-shaped shadow and no black spot in the middle of the light pattern.

This is exactly what I needed for lighting artwork that's UV sensitive. In addition, it was ideal for the backless fixtures my client purchased, because the coated silver backs don't allow any light to spill onto the ceiling, as is the case with most lamps.
