We moved into our new house and our garage had 5 standard chain mounted, plug in, two tube fluorescent light fixtures hanging from the ceiling. I was concerned about bulb breakage given all of our sports equipment in the garage, so looked just about everywhere to find wire guards to fit them. I was very happy once I came across these!
The wire guards attach solidly and were fairly easy to install. What's more, I've bumped into the low hanging fixtures a few time moving boxes around, but no worries about the bulbs breaking - the wire guards worked as I hoped they would!

I have looked for an item that is cost effective to protect my lights from my kids basketballs and this guard did an excellent job. I would recommend it to anyone.

These fit on easily! The price is great. They are open-ended, so if you want to protect the ends of the bulb-fixture area from strikes, you might put some sort of screen material on both ends.
