I like the ability to program the turn on and turn off times. I do not like the fade up on turn on so the ability to have instant on is a big plus for me. Other units I looked at always to a fade up/down. They just allow you to program the delay. You can also turn off the indicator and locator leds to keep the room dark.
If you want a dimmer with instant on this is the unit for you
