I didn't know what "triple-dipped" meant until I bought these. I thought it had something to do with ice cream, but boy, was I wrong! These bulbs have three layers of paint on them them, which gives them a super-rich color. You can just tell by looking at them that they're a well-manufactured bulb.

I used another supplier for purple C9 lamps before this purchase which were a true purple. These are more of a pink color when lit. If you are looking for true purple, select another lamp name, these are not it. Purchased these for a New Orleans theme (purple, green and gold/yellow) these lamps made it a pink, green and gold/yellow theme and had guests confused. :-( All lamps lit, no defects, and good value, but I give low marks on color.
