The LR6 is a downlight module for new construction and retrofit that installs easily in most standard six inch recessed IC or non-IC housings. The LR6 generates white light with LEDs in a new way that enables an unprecedented combination of light output, energy efficiency, beautiful color, and affordability. The LR6 improves on CFL energy reduction without the hazardous mercury in all fluorescent bulbs. This product demonstrates that the future of lighting is LED
I am very impressed--the Cree LR6s demonstrate how good LEDs can be. They are at least as bright as 75 watt BR30 incandescent floods and the color is almost indistinguishable from incandescent. The light is uniformly distributed with no hotspots. I installed them in my living room, which has 16-foot ceilings, with the expectation that it will be a long time till I need to bring out the 13-foot stepladder again. The energy savings (11.5 watts compared with 75 for the incandescents) are gravy.

Great downlight
We have right around 100 of these things installed in our home and have nothing but good things to say about them. Installation is trivial, they nail 2700K perfectly and dim smoothly as long as the minimum load requirements of the dimmer (in our case Lutron Maestro) are met. They're vastly better than any of the other LEDs that we have installed and make CFLs look like something from a dystopian science fiction film.

Excellent product! Wonderful light balance and easy to install.
The Cree LR6 LED light kit is an excellent replacement for CFL bulbs. Extremely easy to install and the light output is wonderful - especially in "hard to reach" areas where replacement of other bulbs is very time consuming. We are very happy with the product and would recommend it to anyone.

Great Quality
this was the first replacement LED can I tried - little pricy but seems to function very well. Installation was straight forward and the light output is great with a nice clean apperance on the ceiling. This is a dimmable unit and it does dim - but not a low as a normal bulb. If you try to dim way down it turns off - probably a limitation of LED.
