Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent lights for my kitchen! We bought two of these to try out in the recessed cans in our kitchen. The light output and color temperature are great! We'll be buying a few more to finish the LED conversion! April 8, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Extremely loud buzzing I wanted to desperately like the LR6-1000 lumens. It is the brightest product on the market. And it came with a 10 year warranty. And I love the energy savings of an 11 watt bulb doing the job of a 100w. However, I cannot recommend this for the following reasons: 1) I can hear the bulb buzzing from 10 feet away!!! It is louder than any light source I've encountered short of CFL's in a quiet library. I thought it was the dimmer, so I swapped out my Lutron Maestro 150W (designed specially for CFL and LED dimming) for the Maestro 600w. No difference. I understand that the recommendation for dimmers does not include these two Maestro models, but come on - their specs are identical to the others on the list so I just assumed the list was not updated to include these newer Maestro dimmers. Cree says their bulbs should not emit a noise so maybe I got a faulty one? 2) The dimmer dims the bulb to only 20%, not the 5% of the CR6, a bulb at half the cost. At that light output, there is no mood lighting possibility, something that I was envisioning when I put all my lights on dimmers. 3) The 6" diameter is too big. It looks like the size of a dinner plate on my wall. Not very subtle. I had intended to put in a lot of these throughout my apt, which would have made my ceiling look like swiss cheese. 4) The 4000k white light is simply too cool for my taste. But that is not the product's fault. Kudos to 1000bulbs for allowing me to return this item past the 30 day mark. My electrician didn't get a chance to install this until a month later. Thank you for standing behind the products you sell. I would have been up a creek if I had been stuck with $1250 of bulbs that didn't work. April 6, 2013
