This 3 watt G16.5 globe light bulb uses Archipelago's patented driver-free LED technology. Operating on AC (alternating current) instead of DC (direct current) the LEDs within this bulb require no driver to make a voltage conversion. This means the bulb's 50,000-hour life is not limited by the life of a driver! No driver also means the bulb is smaller than other LED light bulbs since a large aluminum heatsink is not needed. Use this bulb to replace any 25 watt incandescent G16.5 in decorative lighting fixtures, indoors or outdoor.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 3 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Attractive and Quirky bulb in exposed chandeliers I have 5 of these in a lovely Quoizel chandelier hanging over my dining room table with no lamp shades or covers - so they have to look good! And they do. Eye-catchingly good. I chose this more rounded silhouette over the traditional candle shaped ones and am pleased. Slightly Edison. Quirky. Plus they throw enough light to eat by. Its not over-powering light, its semi-romantic, but not too little either. I do not have a problem with the light only casting up as the previous reviewer mentions. In my opinion, it is comfortable in an upward setting at a dining table. Perhaps s/he has decorative cups on the setting that block the light? I can comment impressionistically, not technically, on the light color thrown by these, as I've purchased many LEDs in the 2700 to 3500 range recently. I find the cheaper 2700 models annoyingly, cloyingly yellow. This one, though cheap, seems to be closer to 3000, which I prefer in my living quarters generally. Four stars because I reserve five for perfection. And I haven't tested the dimmability or the 50K hours promised yet. January 9, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Product I bought these for a bathroom light bar and they look every bit as good as the incandescent bulbs they replace and give more light. Delivery was fast. Shipping excellent. December 1, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Useful for some applications The bulb is dimmable. It does, as claimed, provide a lighting level similar to that of a 25-watt incandescent bulb. One small issue is that the light does not project downward well. So, it is perfect in applications where the base is at the side or at the top. It is less satisfactory in applications where the base is at the bottom. This problem may be inherent in all LED candelabra-style bulbs, though. June 20, 2013
