Fluorescent lamps were once the only choice when it comes to low energy recessed lights, but LEDs have changed that drastically. And now you can replace your recessed bays with T8 retrofit LED tube lights from 1000Bulbs.com. Whereas the older direct wire style of T8 retrofit LED tubes requires a certified electrician to remove the ballast during installation, ballast compatible T8s are designed to work in a plug-and-play fashion with your current fluorescent ballast. Just check the specs or contact our expert staff for any help you need in finding the right T8 to retrofit your current installation.
Another way to eliminate the need for a ballast is to replace existing tubes with Type C LED driver compatible equivalents. The driver must be purchased with the tubes to make sure they are compatible. Like direct wire T8s, Type C tubes bypass the ballast during installation and eliminate the compatibility issues and maintenance costs typically associated with them. Remote drivers allow for tubes to be dimmed using any compatible 0-10V dimmers. They also let you adjust the wattage to your preferences and increase or decrease the lumen outputs.
