Operating two F32T12 or F40T12 lamps, F40T12 ballast replacements are quieter and more energy efficient than their magnetic counterparts. These rapid start ballasts preheat the filaments with a low voltage current before starting the lamp with a larger surge of voltage. While there may be a slight delay before the lamps light; this starting method doesn't place as much stress on the lamp which helps lengthen the lifespan. F40T12 ballast replacements are suitable for use in general lighting applications, including conference rooms and offices. F40T12 ballasts that are indoor rated should be used in dry locations only. If rated for outdoor use, make sure that your F40T12 ballast is protected from water.
