Rated 4 out of 5 by BigBen Bright Light & Dimming Works
Have 4 of these installed in a new fixture over the island in the kitchen. Wife wanted dimmable; I wanted energy efficiency. This was our compromise. Went with the 5000K color b/c I knew I didn't want the yellow 2700K look. Definitely stands out against all other lights in the house, even incandescent. At first almost regretted it, but now after a couple weeks, I really appreciate the stark brightness. If I had to do it over again, I would go with the full 6500K daylight instead. Cost is too high to convert the whole house right now; should break even in ~ 1350 hours, and will be ahead for whatever remaining portion of the 12000-hr rating is realized. Dimming is OK, although the bottom 1/3 of the dimmer range is OFF. Some buzzing when bulbs are first powered, but always goes away.
