Light Distribution
These 1000W Equal LED high bay and low bay fixtures are available in narrow/medium or wide beam angles to help you maximize the efficiency of your lighting. Wide light distribution fixtures are designed for commercial buildings, work areas, conference halls, and other spaces with an open layout. Narrower beam angle designed for warehouses, big box retail stores, and other applications with aisles or shelving. Almost 100 percent of the light is within a 0-90-degree zone, keeping the majority of the light on the paths instead of lighting the tops of shelves. Installing these fixtures parallel to aisles helps decrease eye strain and is approximately 50 percent more efficient than when the fixtures are hung perpendicular.
Mounting Height
The mounting height refers to how high the light source is from the floor. For fixtures that can be chain mounted to hang lower than the ceiling, the mounting height is the distance from floor to fixture, not floor to ceiling. Some fixtures may require a minimum suspension distance from the ceiling while others can be surface mounted.
Additional Information
When selecting a product, it's also important to know the operating temperature range and UL rating of the product. These can be found on the spec sheets or by contacting a 1000Bulbs.com account manager. LED low and high bay fixtures replace traditional metal halide systems and are better designed for cold temperatures than linear fluorescent bulbs, however, LEDs are sensitive to heat. The fixture may fail prematurely if the operating temperature exceeds the recommended range. For outdoor installations, you'll need a product that has a damp location rating, meaning it can handle humid environments or outdoor installations if protected from direct contact with water.
