Due to their high 90 Color Rendering Index (CRI), these LED MR16 lamps render colors vibrantly. CRI is a measure of a product’s ability to reveal true colors when compared to a natural light source. Light sources with a high CRI (90 and above) imitate natural light by rendering colors and whites as accurately as the sun. They are ideal for highlighting rich hues and natural skin tones that other options wash out.
MR16 LED lamps are suited to a broad range of applications and offered at an affordable price point when compared to halogen equivalents. Lamps with wider beam angles are better for ambient lighting applications and smaller more precise beam angles are typically used for task and accent lighting. The beam angles of MR16s are as follows:
- Narrow Spot: less than 10 degree beam angle
- Spot: 15 degree beam angle
- Narrow Flood: 25 degree beam angle
- Flood: 36 degree beam angle
- Wide Flood: greater than 50 degree beam angle
