In 1886, Westinghouse Electric Company was founded as the first commercial AC power generation company. Westinghouse has since made a name for itself through work with visionaries such as Nikola Tesla or by completing projects similar to the lighting of the World’s Fair. Westinghouse has seen many names, but has always been deeply invested in the advancement of power generation technology, from hydro-electric energy to newer nuclear plants, Westinghouse has been a forerunner.
On the consumer market, Westinghouse has worked in broadcasting and in consumer electronics. They offer a wide range of bulb types, both incandescent and fluorescent, as well as extension cords, power strips, and timing or control devices.
