    1/2 in. - LED - Amber - Rope Light

    2 Wire - 120 Volt - 150 ft. Spool - Clear Tubing with Amber LEDs - Signature LED-13MM-AM-150

Bring life to any scene with this energy-saving (LED-13MM-AM-150) amber LED rope light. Only 1/2 inch in diameter, it's a perfect fit for ledges, eaves, banisters, and more. Because the rope is made of clear, heat resistant PVC tubing with brilliant amber LEDs inside, it virtually disappears from plain view when turned off. Use the molded plug (included) to power the entire spool, or cut the rope into shorter sections for creative applications (cutting this rope light voids UL listing). Because of a newly developed UV inhibitor, you can even install this product outdoors without worry.

    • Channel raceways (sold separately) are recommended for straight line installations
    • The maximum run for this 120-volt LED rope light is 150 feet
    • Each reel includes 1 molded plug and 1 end cap

    Mounting Tips

Continuous flexing of rope light may damage its internal electrical connections. To avoid premature failure, mount rope light to sturdy surfaces such as wood or glass and reinforce it with a channel raceway or reflector trim of the correct diameter.

If you must install rope light on an unstable or moving surface such as trees or bushes, it is most cost-effective to use incandescent rope light, which can be replaced at a lower cost than LED rope light.

Movement of frozen rope lights may also damage electrical connections. Avoid installing or re-spooling rope light when temperatures are below freezing. The PVC tubing can become brittle in temperatures below 50 deg. F.

Note on UL Listing and Installation Safety

Please note that cutting this rope light, even following manufacturer instructions, will void the UL listing of the product. This, however, does not necessarily mean the product is unsafe.

If UL listing is an important concern for you or your organization either use the full length of the spool without cutting it or consider purchasing our shorter rope light "kits".

While 1000Bulbs.com encourages all creative use of rope lights, we assume no responsibility for problems arising from cutting rope light. Professional installation is always recommended.

    Customer Reviews

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great looking, a bit tricky to section off I bought this spool to line my walkway and driveway. I love the look. Amber is a great color for this. It lights the path well without being too bright. I bought a few connectors so I could do sections. The cut lines are clearly marked once you find one. You have to get the polarity correct. It only works from one end, and not the other. The spool comes with one connector already on so I thought it wouldn't be hard, that I could just keep track of which end I cut from. I started with the end, since there was a cap on it, figuring the other end must work. Somehow it didn't, and I had to cut the cap end off and use that end. I still don't understand why, but that worked. You also have to line up the wires right with the connector. As I recall (it's been a few months now) one is toward the center and one toward the outside, so it's not that hard, but you can't see what you're doing. Combined with the frustration of not knowing which end is correct, you wind up doing some twisting to try to get it working. I twisted too much once and heard a pop. Not sure if I just blew the fuse or fried the connector, as I had bought 2 more than I needed. You also need to weather seal the cap. No instructions, but I did google what to use. (Again, I can't recall exactly what I used, so google it yourself.) I think 1000bulbs could've provided better instructions for the average homeowner on how to do all this, especially the weather sealing, and perhaps offer products for this. Maybe they do but nothing showed up when I looked at the spool. Maybe the retail packs are what I should've been using as a novice. Now installed, the lights have worked flawlessly for months. The quality seems very good. It's a 5* product but I deducted a * for the installation issues. December 10, 2015
