Installation

Mounting Tips

Continuous flexing of rope light may damage its internal electrical connections. To avoid premature failure, mount rope light to sturdy surfaces such as wood or glass and reinforce it with a channel raceway or reflector trim of the correct diameter.

If you must install rope light on an unstable or moving surface such as trees or bushes, it is most cost-effective to use incandescent rope light, which can be replaced at a lower cost than LED rope light.

Movement of frozen rope lights may also damage electrical connections. Avoid installing or re-spooling rope light when temperatures are below freezing. The PVC tubing can become brittle in temperatures below 50 deg. F.

Note on UL Listing and Installation Safety

Please note that cutting this rope light, even following manufacturer instructions, will void the UL listing of the product. This, however, does not necessarily mean the product is unsafe.

If UL listing is an important concern for you or your organization either use the full length of the spool without cutting it or consider purchasing our shorter rope light "kits".

While 1000Bulbs.com encourages all creative use of rope lights, we assume no responsibility for problems arising from cutting rope light. Professional installation is always recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by 3 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Looks really cool for indirect lighting I installed this product under the rails and in the compartments of my 21' ski boat. Looks really good at night and I expect will really help when looking for items or cleaning out the boat at night. Instructions on assembling the connectors to the rope light could be better, but not that many pieces so I got it figured out after a little trial and error. Also wiring is positive/negative specific, so you have to be careful with wire polarity or it just does not work. Reverse the wiring and it does. Managed to install 70' in a 21' boat! Good value even though I have plenty left over for a unknown future project. Only comes with three end connectors and is limited to 30' runs, so you would need a couple more end connectors to use the whole 150' spool. Seems like at least 5 should be included. January 11, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by The rope light delivers the features, as advertised! Product arrived on-time, and as described. Have in the past, and will certainly use this supplier again. November 13, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Really bright, uses very little power; small battery packs can run it I bought a spool of this for Burning Man. Used about half of it on the Art Car and have been using the other half on wearable costumes. REALLY bright, it dazzles most cameras. For this halloween I am running about 20 ft of it on a jacket and top hat and powering it with a small 12v battery pack from a power tool (Milwaukee M12 battery and I dissambled the useless flashlight that came with the tool combo pack to get a battery holder and switch) I am running 2+ hrs on a single pack.
