Rated 5 out of 5 by MindSent Excellent Upgrade
I just purchased 13 of these as incandescent replacements. I am using all of them (in sets of 4/4/5) on Lutron Maestro digital dimmers. I have to say I was skeptical at first of what I was going to get for dimmed light temperature since incandescents red out badly at low outputs. These totally blew me away in terms of build quality and output. They dim perfectly with a linear profile, no flicker, and uniform color, even bottoming out the dimmer's lowest range without dropping light output entirely. Even with rated output at 2700K I feel these are slightly whiter (I can detect a slight blue color on some things; I assume it is the coloring of the lens that achieves the finished color so the diodes are a bit bluish), perhaps closer to 3000K. As I sit here typing this the bulbs have been running for a few hours, and I've detected no noticeable heat generation, color variation, or burnout yet. Quite impressed.

We used 11 of these to transition from fluorescent tube to recessed cans and couldn't be happier with the results. They work prefect on a LED compatible dimmer. The residual heat is next to none and the covering of each bulb is plastic so they are safe for a commercial kitchen environment with no glass that could shatter.
Further, the dramatic look that the lighting creates over fluorescent has enabled us to open up our kitchen to be visible from the dining room. The color of the light and intensity really make a commercial kitchen look like a showpiece.

I appreciate the attention to service and prompt deliveries. I trust that with one phone call I can get what I need and learn about new products that might suit our company.

Replaced our incandescent can bulbs in the kitchen with these LEDs… immediately noticed a cooler kitchen, but brighter with a warm quality. Long life remains to be seen but we were replacing the old bulbs every 3-4 months so if these last as advertised we will realize significant savings on bulb replacement, not to mention energy costs. 1000 Bulbs had the best prices and shipped immediately… couldn't be happier.Highly recommended!

Rated 2 out of 5 by raf52 Too big for fixture
The flare of the bulb was too wide for the fixture. I had to send it back and get r30 since this was the only 14 watt r 40.
The original bulb I wanted was discontinued.

Rated 5 out of 5 by CGMix Great light and a better move for the future
I think these lights are wonderful! They fit my standard recessed light fixtures without any problems. I love how they put the energy info on the box as well. I'm currently trying to convert my home to all LED lights. I just like the way they look over CFLs. This light in particular has an even stream of light output. Meaning, the way it lights leaves no gaps or shadows when lighting the area it's in. Plus, the 2700k looks better to me than a CFL 2700k. Great buy. Great design.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MOSF Great Bulb for my purposes
I bought three different manufacturer's BR40 LED bulbs from three different places for comparison and this is the bulb I chose. Bottom line is it all comes down to personal preference, but.... These Kobi's appear to have a nice uniform warm illumination, fit well in my recessed cans, and turn on instantly. I'm not currently running any dimmers. The Kobi bulb is also priced very competitively. The LED light I bought from the big box store has a slight delay during turn on and the illumination doesn't appear to be uniform when you look at the bulb. You can actually see the light and dark areas through the bulb housing. In addition, the Kobi bulb is brighter at less watts than the other bulb which is advertised as a "100W equivalent" light at 19W. However, at the same time I don't think the Kobi bulb is all that much brighter than the existsing 65W incandescents I am replacing, which was my initial concern prior to purchase. At least I don't think they are obnoxiously brighter. The third LED bulb I tested was okay, but at .5" longer it didn't fit in my recessed cans without sticking out too far even when the cans were adjusted to their maximum depth. In the end, I'm very happy with the Kobi bulbs as long as they last as advertised.
