Leviton's SmartlockPro 15-amp AGTR1-WH is the first ever AFCI/GFCI receptacle on the market. An Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter (AFCI) helps prevent electrical fires while a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) prevents electrical shocks; this dual-function outlet does both. The National Electric Code (NEC) now requires AFCI and/or GFCI protection in many rooms of the home, including laundry rooms and kitchens.
