Position the unit at least 6 feet away from heating appliances to avoid triggering the sensor with everyday cooking smoke. The hush feature quiets the alarm for 8-10 minutes, then automatically resets if the air is clear of the condition that triggered the alarm.

Its self-testing feature continuously monitors critical circuits for any issues. Weekly manual testing with the test button is recommended.
