Rated 5 out of 5 by Works very well I have used both the Blue and the Green T5 lamp sleeves. They are easy to cut with a razor to fit whatever length T5 lamp you are using. I have had these in use for 6 years, and there is no sign of cracking or brittleness. I have no reason to suspect these will not last decades. The blue one obscures more of the visible light. It provides a nice, mellow atmosphere. The green one is a bit garish, but depending on where you place it, it can work. Much brighter than the blue, i.e. allows more light through. The green has the look of bright green neon. I suggest cutting them a slight bit shorter than your lamp (fluorescent tube) size. You need to be able to grasp the metal ends of the lamp to twist it into its connectors. If you cut it slightly too short you will obviously have some white light peaking through the ends, but from a few feet away you cannot see that. If you want a colored lighting options, it is hard to beat this for price. Buy it once, and it will last you virtually forever. At this time, T5 replacement lamps are extremely inexpensive. If T5 works for your application, this is significantly cheaper than purchasing colored CFLs. And as far as colored incandescent bulbs go, there is no comparison. This is far brighter at a fraction of the watts and acquisition cost. It's too bad I cannot post a photo here. I have a nice one of the 2 colors side-by-side, and some other lamps without colored sleeves in the same photo for comparison. In summary - If you considering using T5 for color/mood/accent lighting, this is a wonderful solution. Color is solid. Price is right. Product is built strong enough to last a lifetime. I will probably purchase a couple more colors just to experiment. March 6, 2015
