Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome Bulb These bulbs are incredibly small and bright. They exceeded my very high expectations. Background: I have two new Harbor Breeze ceiling fans that can only take a maximum 40W candelabra base bulb. I was looking for more light than the standard light bulb but wanted full dimming. A CFL was not really ideal in my case. Also, the wiring is so thin and cheap on those new Harbor Breeze fans that the ballasts do not receive enough current to not flicker during operation. These new light bulbs are extremely tiny and bright. It is surprising how much light they put out. The light color is also on-par with what you would want from a normal light bulb (i.e. not like the horrible CFL or HID type lighting). February 15, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent compact and long-lasting bright bulb I have a lighting business designing and creating spectacular blown glass lamps and shades that often need a lot of light to bring to life and change colors / patterns. Some lamps are pretty small so they need very compact yet intense bulbs to work effectively. These are about the best in the market and I've been using them as well as recommending them for years. Being halogen, they do get hot and stay hot so use caution when handling them. Also keep at least an inch or so distance between the bulb and the glass shades so that the sudden heat build-up doesn't crack the latter. I have yet to find neither compact nor bright LED counterpart as an effective substitute. Enjoy! April 30, 2014
