Customer Reviews

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by A little noisy and not quite as "rapid" as it could be Overall, I'm happy with my purchase of this ballast. I was replacing Advance ballasts that came with the original 25-year-old fixture. I knew there were other ballasts with higher ballast factors out there, but I was just looking for a cheap fix for my flickering, bulb-murdering light fixtures and this was it. The overall light in the room didn't change noticeably, even though I was reducing by 0.20 in ballast factor. I did, however notice that the Sola ballast emitted a faint buzz and flickered a bit before it finally turned the bulb on. Time can only tell how long the new ballasts will last, but in the meantime I am pleased with my purchase and would recommend it to others looking for a ballast with its specs. February 23, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect Replacement! My mother's condo has seven flourscent fixtures in the kitchen, above and below the cabinets. After 40 years all of the ballasts are finally going bad. I was torn between replacing the ballasts or the entire fixtures. The local home improvement stores didn't have much in the way of single bulb T12 fixtures and only had GE "universal" ballasts. I found these to universally not work in my application! The Sola units are an exact replacement for the original balasts. They are the same dimensions and even bolted in place perfectly in the old fixtures. It's a five wire application (black; white; 1x blue; 2x red) and with five wire nuts and five minutes, the fixtures work like new! September 20, 2012
