Installed nine of them in our kitchen, much of which has a 14-foot ceiling. Looking forward to not climbing that ladder again to change bulbs. They have pretty much the same brightness and apparent color temperature as the halogens they replaced (90w). As long as they fulfill their longevity promise, they'll be up there for a very long time.

This lamp is a great replacement for a par 38 halogen.

Very happy with these floods. Watch the color temp though. If you really want to match the old ones, get 2700K. 3000K brightens things up a bit, which is great if you want that, too. We've used both. Nice product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JeremyVirginia Everything an LED bulb should be
Bright, even white light - have them in my kitchen and love them. Since they're LEDs, they're instant-on (unlike CFLs), don't put out a lot of heat (unlike conventional bulbs), use very little electricity, and of course won't need to be replaced in my lifetime!
Shipping from 1000bulbs was fast and efficient, and they were appropriately packed to prevent damage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Pappychris I think these bulbs are brighter than the incandescents
I replaced two incandescent bulbs which were located 25 feet above the blacktop in front of the garage. I'm pretty sure these LEDs give more light than the twin 90W incandescents that I replaced. I had problems with the old motion detector and the lights were on a good deal of the time, wasting alot of energy. I installed a RAB Stealth 360 in the fixture, but RAB doesn't and won't recommend any LED bulb to be used. I set up an experimental light inside my garage for a few weeks and had no problem whatsoever with your LED bulbs. Keeping my fingers crossed. The light is very difficult to access at 25 feet high. Been about 4 weeks now and never a problem.

So far so good. I placed these bulbs on a security light outside in the frigid winter temperatures (which I have to admit I was quite worried about). The cold doesn't seem to affect them at all (the spec sheet states "Minimum Starting Temp @ -20ºC / -4ºF)".
I got the 3000K color temperature and for my taste it is a little white I will probably get the 2700K next round.
The 40º angle is pretty good for a LED floodlight. Not as wide as my previous CFL floodlight but with the instant on brightness I can lose a little area of coverage.
The CFL that I have that gave off the same amount of lumens used 23 watts and this only uses 17. That saves some money.
Also if you're worried about cost, think of it this way. If you run the bulb 3 hours a day it should last at least 22 years. It will cost you about $2 a year to run and about $1.50 a year for 22 years to pay for it. So for $3.50 a year you have a nice bright floodlight. Compare that to incandescents or fluorescents and you will see that it's well worth the investment. Of course as long as it actually last for 22 years.
Overall I think it's a good bulb and will probably by more but will keep exploring the LED waters over time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by TheAntiquarian Much better than CFLs
Though expensive to purchase this and other LED lights are so much better per watt than CFLs in color and brightness. Also there is no mercury vapor to be concerned with if they break. I'm using these in my business and there is already a good savings in my electric bill. Eventually I will replace all lighting with LEDs at home and in my business. As a side note, I'm using the higher kelvin rated LEDs for product photography instead of the high wattage, high heat photo flood lights.
