used two lamps for part of the budding. I had been using A single 1000 w. sodium on A light mover but wasn't impressed. Switched to the two 105 w. cfls and noticed A difference. I have 6 "daylight " bulbs over A 4' x 7' 6" space. Three sides are surrounded with silver mylar. They have been in the grow stage for 2 weeks. Aprox. 3 weeks more and I will be moving to the bloom cycle with 6 of the 105 w,I am confident that they will work just fine.

Rated 3 out of 5 by DougLindsey Good but not 400w equal
Still trying to figure out why they "stretch" the truth here. 6000 lumens is 250 equal in incandescent. 1000bulbs is a great company I order hundreds of bulbs a year. You would have more credibility with the pros. As far as this bulb it is excellent I waited a year to review to see how it did. Its actually a nice bulb BUT more like a 250 to 300 watt equal. Its lost about 50% of mean lumens after 3000 hours now and base is showing UV burn which is normal for this lamp. At this price though its an excellent value.

by steamchili great, but sealing job on light tubes worries me.
The bulb is effective for the purpose I'm using it for. Its kept my chili plants green and healthy. They are bending towards the bulb so that tells me they like it. The bulb does get hot though. Not nearly as hot as a 400 watt incondescent equal, but I still wouldn't recommend letting the plants touch it. Overall its bright enough to serve the purpose of which I bought it for, but the sealing job around the light tubes is a bit messy. I hope it dosnt shorten the life span of the bulb.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Crofton If you want Sun Light this is it!
It is a very bright light filling your room with Sun Light. No waiting to warm up, it is Instant on. My wife suffers from sunlight deficiency and the use of this bulb seems to help in that regard. This one bulb uses only 105 watts of power, instead of a bank of four 100 watt sunlight bulbs, Also it is cooler, it does not generate as much heat. It is a tall light bulb 13 inches in height, and about 3 1/2 in diameter. It fits very well in an open top floor or table lamp.

Rated 5 out of 5 by sfxman Great product from a great company
I use CFL bulbs in my work and have purchased many. 1000Bulbs is consistently the best price, they ship fast and this Longstar brand is my choice of all the CFL brands as they last longer and keep their temp ratings the best.
I will buy many more and this is where I will buy them.
Best price, best service, best bulbs - how can you go wrong.

Rated 5 out of 5 by whackamole Used as shop lights. White bright.
At full brightness, it's like a small thermonuclear event in the shop.
I have one over each major machine, in a clip-on lamp holder so it can be moved for maximum effect.
