Rated 5 out of 5 by Rigel Good bulb, but be aware of warm-up time
I liked this bulb a lot. I bought over 200 of them for a university and will probably buy a few hundred more. They improved the lighting in the room a great deal for video capture - probably added about 30% more lumens. We mounted them in deep 6 inch recessed cans.
They are rated at 3500K, but my eyeball puts them closer to 4000K or 4500K. Still fine for our purposes.
The one issue that the faculty didn't like so much is the long warm up times. They take about 5 minutes to fully warm up and produce their full lumen yield. We had to supplement the room with some other, more responsive, lights so that there was enough light in the room after the professor finished a slide deck or short video. Hence the rating of "good" and not "excellent". But once they are fully warmed up they do generate a lot of light without producing too much glare. What we wanted most from them, we got-- skin tones of the faculty and students on video turned out well with these bulbs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by fordhammsw very pleased
I had previously been unhappy with the CFL R40s that are available in local stores - I could only find lights with a greenish yellow cast (2700 Kelvin) or a bright white cast (4800 Kelvin). These are 3500K - and the light is bright, but not blinding, works as excellent task lighting in my kitchen, and does not make people's complexions look "sick". Very happy!
